Birmingham City Netball Club is an established junior and intermediate level netball club for girls based in the South of Birmingham. We started in 1996 and now cater for School Years 3 to 11. We are there to promote the love of netball and to develop the skills of members in playing and eventually umpiring and coaching.
The Club is affiliated to England Netball (Club number 7055) and has achieved the Bronze CAPS Award.
The people who run the Club give their time, effort and resources because they love netball. They want to share their enthusiasm for the sport with you.

We do not provide netball to help you get fit – we expect you to be fit so that you can play netball!
We are a competetive Club and our members are expected to be available for matches if selected. Our ideal membership number per year group is 20-22, which enables us to run two squads in the year. While on this basis we have vacancies in some school years, we are full or over-subscribed in others, and are normally unable to accept new members in those years. (We may make exceptions for players who are of outstanding ability.)
The table below shows (in blue) the school years for which we are taking on members in 2024/25. For other school years, shown in white , we can accept players only onto a waiting list.

In Year 3 and Year 4: we take beginners and non-beginners (subject to availability of places). We give two weeks’ free training to new players, without commitment either way. We do not take beginners above Year 4, though (subject to availability of places) they may join the Little League and receive beginner instruction there as part of the playing programme.
In Years 5 and above: Sadly we are not able to take beginners. We need girls with experience in netball, who show, during a free two-week trial period, that they have sufficient knowledge, experience and abilty to fit into our teams. They will typically have played regularly for a school team, or, if new to the area, for another club.
Above all we need players who are coachable.
Membership of the Club has to include a commitment to play matches on Saturdays and/or Sundays when selected, as well as to attend training regularly. We cannot accommodate people who want to take part in training and not in matches. Commitment from players needs to be matched by parental backing, for example in arranging transport. We expect Birmingham City players to give the Club priority among their leisure activities.
Subscription rates are shown on the ‘We Offer‘ page.
Parents of members new to the Club should complete the Membership Application Form.
